Tsugu Tsugumomo - Chapter 8: New members
As they had already promised, Akito and Mimane join the orio Office β. Taking the opportunity to learn more about Kazuya, as well as Kukuri, the club's local deity and adviser. Mayoiga
In the previous chapters We already saw how Akito and Arumi arrived in paradise for tsugumomo who has resentment against humans, Mayoiga. In the same way we saw a bit of Mayoiga's past. What they hardly showed or mentioned were to all tsugumomo belonging to Mayoiga. Something that was not strictly necessary either because at that time they were simple secondary characters. However, in Tsugu Tsugumomo - Chapter 8 four of them have already appeared that seem to take the role of antagonists.
These tsugumomo They were the most desperate for Arumi's plan, after it took over 30 years for them to start acting following her visions. They are: Genbu (an ax), Kyouka (a flute), Senga (a fan), Jungou (a shield). All of them seem experienced in combat, mainly Jungou and Genbu, due to the object they are. For their part, Kyouka and Senga seem to me to be more strategists, especially Senga.
With their desperation, without following the plan that Mayoiga had already thought in general, I cannot help imagining that they became defectors of Mayoiga. They did not agree to continue waiting for fear that they too would die. Something I understand. So personally, I don't think they are wrong, well, I would do the same instead. Of course, I do not think that going with so little patience to ask for help from a deity was the best idea.
A new theory
In Tsugu Tsugumomo - Chapter 8 we could see at the beginning a bit of Kazuya's past, as well as his power. One that allowed him to create amasogi at pleasure. A quite interesting power and that I can understand why they sealed it. And thanks to this I was also able to create a theory around Azami and her relationship with Kazuya.
My new theory is that Kazuya, seeing the great relationship between his mother Kanaka and Kiriha, the tsugumomo from an obi, he wanted to have an equal relationship. So it gave life to an obi, in this case, a black obi. Hence Azami was born, more than a amasogi, a tsugumomo. Which caught the attention of Kanaka and Kukuri, discussing what to do with their power and Azami. Which made Azami furious at the fact that they wanted to separate her from Kazuya, so she began to confront Kanaka. Perhaps coming to possess her. Seeing Azami's dangerousness, both Kanaka and Kiriha knew that they had to destroy her, even if that meant Kanaka's death.
But they did not achieve their goal, instead they ended up "separating" her. Creating two Azami, explaining how it is that there is one near Kazuya and another is in Mayoiga.
My theory still has holes, but I think it is the best fit to explain Kazuya's past and why it was sealed. To keep her from feeling guilty about her mother's death.
Tsugu Tsugumomo Details - Chapter 8
Outside of the plot shown in the episode. There were details that I enjoyed seeing on Tsugu Tsugumomo - Chapter 8. For example, Arumi's fanservice, well, Mimane being Arumi. Part that, by the way, I think brought several interesting moments. One of the most striking was that Shirou knew the myth that any pervert would surely learn. Myth that, by involving deities and fanservice, it is perfect for Tsugu Tsugumomo. It was a pretty funny scene in the episode.
But, personally, it wasn't the funniest part of the episode. The one I liked the most and made her laugh was when Mimane shows Taguri the βrecordingβ of her bathing next to Kukuri. Creating a great friendship. That, in addition, it must be remembered, although he is not the local deity, Taguri is still a deity. So, inadvertently, Mimane gained a great ally.
The next episode will surely be full of action, with the confrontation between Kaguya, Kiriha, Akito, Mimane and Taguri against the tsugumomo from Mayoiga. I am excited to see the combat, and not only for the animation quality, but also to see the fighting ability of Akito, Mimane and Taguri.
