Tsurunewho have favourited Kyoto Animation series based on the light novel by Kotoko Ayano, will receive an anime film of the same name in 2022, of which the trailer was recently shown. The original series, which aired from October 2018 to January 2019, is why Shinji Aoba set the studio on fire on July 18, 2019, killing 36 people.
The arson attack on Kyoto Animation’s Studio 1 was one of the largest massacres in Japan since the end of World War II, and the perpetrator, a 41-year-old local named Shinji Aoba, claimed to have caused it for plagiarism. According to Aoba, the scene from the fifth episode of Tsurune, shown from 9:10 a.m., the aforementioned anime series available on Crunchyroll is practically identical to the one written in one of his light novels that was sent to KyoAni’s studios some time earlier.
After a two year hiatus, The studio has decided to resume work on the animeannouncing a new project for 2022. At the moment, Kyoto Animation has not yet announced whether the film in question will serve as a synopsis or a sequel, but new information will likely be revealed before the end of the year.
Tsurune tells the story of Minato Narumiya, a new student at Kazemai High School. After Minato was recruited into the archery club along with his childhood friends Seiya Takehaya and Ryohei Yamanouchi, he meets Kaito Onogi and Nanao Kisaragi, two other members, and together the five decide to strive for victory in the prefectural tournament. The anime series consists of 13 episodes plus an OVA, and we will have more details about this feature film soon.
