On the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of light novels by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Kinako, Bishounen tanteidan ((Pretty Boy Detective Club) a third promotional image of the project was published. The press release also included a special video summarizing the first three episodes of the series.
The series has aired in Japan since April 10 and is confirmed with a total of twelve episodes. On the other hand, Isin started publishing the light novels through the publishing label Kodansha Taiga from the publisher Kodansha Completed in October 2015 and December 2019 with a total of eleven volumes.

- Hiroki Yamamura ((Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, Fate / Extra Last Encore) is responsible for the character design based on the original designs of Kinako.
Synopsis of Bishounen Tanteidan
Mayumi Dojima, a student at the exclusive Yubiwa High Academy, has lost something: a star she only saw once ten long years ago. But help is on the way in the form of the unofficial, secret and completely mysterious Handsome Boys and Detective Club! Rumor has it that these five handsome boys are supposed to take Mayumi into their world of excitement, danger, and overwhelming beauty to solve problems within the school (which they supposedly created) for aesthetic rather than financial reasons.
