In the July edition of this year of the magazine Bessatsu Shonen Champion from the publisher Akita Shoten it was revealed that the manga written by Souichirou Yamamoto and illustrated by Kamio Fukuchi, Kaijuu no Tokage, will end in the next edition of the magazine, on July 10.

Yamamoto and Fukuchi began publishing the manga Kaijuu no Tokage in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine in April 2019. The publisher published the second compilation volume of the work on February 17, and the story centers on two sisters. that they discover a mysterious egg, from where a new companion for both will emerge.

Souichirou Yamamoto is perhaps best known for being the author of the manga Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san, which publishes in the magazine Monthly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan since June 2013. The publisher published the thirteenth compilation volume on March 12.

The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Shin-Ei Animation, under the direction of Hiroaki Akagi and scripts written by Michiko Yokote, released in January 2018. A second season aired in July 2019.
