There are plenty of niche manga and anime in the ’90s that could count on passionate but not extremely large audiences. One such manga is Hellsing, a story written and drawn by Kohta Hirano, little known at the time and with only a few medium-sized ecchi-style publications behind him.
Hellsing was published in Young King OURs at the time, a monthly goal of his own, and sees a world populated by humans and monsters, with the former trying to curb the appetites of the latter. To the protagonists of the Hellsing organization belong Alucard and Victoria Seras. In reality, however, the first is an accidentally awakened vampire, while the second was vampirized by Alucard on the verge of death.
This duo will populate many of Hell’s bloody adventures. But now they’re also being brought back to life – thanks to two Russian cosplayers – after getting back on the show. Brounovskoye uploaded two photos on his profile a Victoria Seras and Alucard Cosplay, with all its utensils and a setting that is reminiscent of the Kohta Hirano series, both very recognizable.
The author is currently working on the Drifters series while the Hellsing Ultimate anime is available on Netflix.
