Now the winter season is coming to an end, that match in January 2023 that brought back many titles that viewers were familiar with. However, there was also room for new additions, anime that are in their first – sometimes even their only – season, and some of these have been featured on Crunchyroll, such as: Tomo-chan is a girl!

Born from the spirit of Fumita Yanagida, Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! is a web manga published daily from 2015 to 2019 on Twi4, a digital platform based on Twitter. At a page a day, she told her followers, which kept growing, the story of young Tomo, a tomboy who is in love with her childhood friend Jun, who is too unable to see her as a woman. And it is precisely this dynamic that explains the title Tomo-chan Is a Girl!, with Tomo’s attempt to become more feminine and to conquer the boy.

Such was the success that a Tomo-chan anime was born, which has been airing on Crunchyroll for the past few months and is now reaching its finale. As a testament to the popularity this romantic-comic short story has achieved, there’s the Tomo-chan Cosplay made by Ariela. Although it’s only a close-up, this photo highlights the girl’s main features with lots of poise and pose. Ariela thought it appropriate to also reproduce the fruit juice in order to be able to perfectly recreate the scene from the anime.

Meanwhile, Crunchyroll is getting ready for Spring 2023 anime with its new schedule.
