Kyoto Animation has confirmed that Violet Evergarden: The film grossed 1.85 billion yen in total through November 15, 2020, a number that makes the film the third most popular among all produced by the Japanese studio. In terms of overseas distribution, the film was also promoted by the famous designer Shirabii.

Violet Evergarden’s film premiered in September and grossed 550 million yen in the first five days of the program. The film continued to sell fast-paced tickets, hitting 1.5 million yen in late October and nearly 2 billion yen in November. For Kyoto Animation these are extremely positive numbers, higher than estimated based on income from the OVA Violet Evergaden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll (1.2 billion yen worldwide).

Shirabii, best illustrator of 2019 and 2020 after i Kono Light Novel ga Sugoihonored the work with the beautiful drawing visible below, in which the growth of the protagonist is depicted. The artwork was immediately released from Kyoto Animation’s official social profile.
