The existence of the second season of the Vinland Saga anime has been unofficially confirmed several times, but at the moment there is still a lack of an announcement and a final release date. All of this could change tomorrow, October 28, 2020 WIT Studio has confirmed that there will be a special event to discuss the series.
Below you can see the post that was posted on the anime's Twitter profile that says: "The WIT Studio online talk show will take place tomorrow evening at 8:00 p.m. (Editor's note 12:00 to the Italian public) and we will speak freely about the anime series! Among the guests are director Shuhei Yabuta and character designer Takahiko Abiru, don't miss out!". Yabuta confirmed production of the second season last monthand the release in 2021 is now certain. The chances of an announcement shortly before the end of the talk show seem extremely high.
The first season of Vinland Saga adapted the first 54 chapters of the manga and transposed the narrative arc of the prologue. The second season, if it consists of another 24 episodes, should adapt the aforementioned narrative arc Farmland saga or Slave bowand close with Chapter 100 just before the trip to Southern Europe begins.
