The anime Black Clover, paused since 2021 to allow serialization to distance itself from Yuki Tabata, returns with an unprecedented film project. Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will mark the Shonen’s box office debut about the magic of Shonen Jump, but not only.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King commercials released by Studio Pierrot allowed viewers to guess the plot of the anime film. In Asta’s first cinematic adventure, the Magic Knights of Clover must defend the Magic Kingdom from those who once ruled it. For some mysterious reason, led by Conrad Leto, the former Magic Emperors will attack the Clover Kingdom.
The film was due to be released on March 31, but due to issues surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, the release was delayed. Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King is slated to debut on Netflix June 16, 2023.
It has been announced for a few hours that it is about to be released on Netflix and in cinemas Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will also appear in comic book stores Japanese. The anime film got one Light novel adaptation which is slated for release on June 9, a week before the film.
The novel Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will be published serialized in two editions, a classic from Jump J Books and for a younger audience with enhanced text and images by Mirai Bunko. Both versions are cataloged as Shueisha’s “fastest novel” adaptation.
