Perry White, the gruff editor of the Daily Planet who for decades was a supporting actor in Superman, will soon be the protagonist of a comic of his own: DC Comics has indeed done it announced one-shot Superman sidekick Jimmy Olsen's boss Perry White #1.

It will be a spin-off from Superman's sidekick Jimmy Olsen, and contains a story created by the creative team of the parent publication, composed by screenwriter Matt Fraction and artist Steve Lieber. In addition to an original story, the 48-page one-shot will also feature several previously published stories traces the career of the editor of the Daily Planet.

Perry White made his debut in the 1940 radio series The Adventures of Superman. He also made his comic book debut a few months later in Superman #7, henceforth took over the role of the supporting actor in the adventures of the blue. Perry White has also been portrayed in numerous live-action adaptations, the most recent of which, in chronological order, is that in the recently renewed series Superman & Lois for a third season.
