There are few animation studios that can boast a reputation and relevance that matches that of Studio Ghiblifounded in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Yasuyoshi Tokuma and Toshio Suzuki, who also recently received an important award for their contribution to the sector.
After the honorary Oscar awarded to Miyazaki, Suzuki adds prestige to the studio by winning the prestigious one Winsor McCay Prize, an award given during the Annie Awards to those who have achieved important goals and are able to define the animation sector. This is a recognition given by the section Association Internationale du Film d’Animation of Hollywood.
Considering that Suzuki still takes an active part in many of the studio’s projects and his own past contributions in films like Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and A Tomb for the Fireflies, directed by the late Takahata, it is clear how well deserved the award was. The Studio Ghibli co-founder commented “I am very happy about this prestigious award, which Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata have already received.“
In conclusion, we remind you that an artist of the studio has created a work of art for Ukraine and we leave you to the extraordinary collection of a fan who has even been included in the Guinness World Record.
