The legend of Wano has reached its peak as the battles on Onigashima have more or less all been resolved outside of Luffy’s fight against Kaido on the Skulldome. The protagonist’s shoulders are under more pressure than ever ONE PIECE to defeat the Emperor and the more he pushes his limits, the more exhausted he is.
As for Kaido, the Emperor only seems to get stronger as the battle progresses. The final chapter continued after the announcement that both Luffy and Kaido would unleash their final attacks on the pages of ONE PIECE 1042.
Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that theSurprise final attack from CP0 Agent combined with Kaido’s final direct hit unfortunately left him utterly defeated and seemingly lifeless. The narrator confirms this Kaido won the fight between the two and the series takes it to a whole new level by showing the worst possible scenario if Luffy really is dead.
Previous chapters have hinted at the importance of winning the fight against Kaido, and sadly, fans see it in ONE PIECE Chapter 1043. After Kaido’s third win against Luffythe Emperor falls through the floors of the Skull Dome again, claiming to have killed Luffy.
want to find Momonosuke to officially surrender Now that Luffy is dead, Kaido begins to stir up new anger that will not stop unless Momonosuke surrenders and forces all of Wano’s samurai to retreat.
This leaves Nami, Law, and Kid in utter despair, and everyone begins to lose hope, as that would mean defeating Luffy and losing this war Wano’s future is practically over.
Kaido’s victory would mean that they will be enslaved for the rest of their lives: fight and die or surrender and live a terrible life. Luckily Luffy doesn’t seem to be completely defeated yet, because by the end of ONE PIECE 1043 he already seems to be preparing for a great and mysterious return.
