A rumor has been leaked on the website of the prestigious Japanese car magazine Best Car that MF spirit, the spiritual successor to Initial D by the author Shuihici Shigeno, is getting an anime adaptation. According to this rumor, accompanied by a promotional visual, the anime will be released in 2023.
The anime series announcement was covered in a non-public article, which was accompanied by an image gallery that also contains one first picturewhich you can find below. However, the privately published leak would have been immediately removed from the Japanese newspaper as it revealed a preview of an anime that would have been revealed later. The un-forgiving folks on the web found the details of the announcement. According to reports, MF Ghost gets the go-ahead for Broadcast on TV channels Japanese from next year who 2023.
MF Ghost is a manga about cars by Shuichi Shigeno, the author of the legendary initial D. Instead of the classic Toyota AE86, this time the main car is a more modern one Toyota GT86. Started in 2017 on Kodanasha’s weekly young magazine, the work has so far published a total of twelve volumes in Japan.
The series is set in this day and age when self-driving cars are widespread in Japan. The story follows the events of Kanata Livington, a driver who returns to his home country after graduating from an English racing school, top of his class. Kanata participates in the MFG, a public road racing circuit that is causing a stir around the world. With his GT86 he has to challenge and beat much more powerful European cars, including models from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Lotus, Alfa Romeo and Porsche.
