The distributors had originally planned the film only at midnight on 28 screens in 14 theaters in Kyoto and Miyagi. show (Locations related to the series) as well as Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, and Hokkaido. The 24th and final episode of the television anime Jujutsu Kaisen came out in March with the announcement that a film would be released this winter. The film is based on that Manga prequel story Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō (Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School) by Gege Akutami, animated by Studio MAPPA and distributed by TOHO.
Planet Manga has published the now out of print volume Jujutsu Kaisen 0. However, a new edition is planned for February: “Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who suffers from a serious problem: her childhood friend Rika has turned into a curse and doesn’t leave him alone. Since Rika is not a common curse, her situation is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school that teaches novice exorcists to fight curses. Gojo persuades Yuta to sign up, but will he be able to learn in time what he will need to face the curse that is haunting him?
The television anime Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in October 2020. Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside of Asia, while the anime aired in Japan. Akutami published the original manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Planet Manga has published 11 volumes of the manga so far.
