Since their very first meeting, between Boruto and Kawaki the spark has jumped. Initially, the two only provoked each other, but since Kawaki was welcomed into the Uzumaki house by the Seventh Hokage himself, Boruto has accepted him as a brother. Their relationship between ups and downs continues to solidify.
In Boruto 255, Team 7 ninjas return to Konoha after a long mission in the Land of Water. The boys are called back for a debrief by Naruto, but while everyone else is curious about what’s going on in Ikada and the Village of Mist, Kawaki keeps to himself. Isshiki Ootsutsuki’s former ship doesn’t yet know how to properly put his thoughts into words, and when he speaks his mind, unleashes Boruto’s fury.
However, as Naruto also acknowledges, Kawaki’s intention was not to offend Boruto, but far from it. As an older brother, he wanted protect him from committing other nonsenselike the near suicide he had gone through.
Finally, it is the Seventh Hokage who guides his son to a better understanding of Kawaki’s words and concerns. However, the controversy comes resolved with a fight causing the two to fall to the ground, exhausted.
Her brotherhood has become even more solid, also thanks to the family challenge in Boruto 258, but for some reason the two come around challenge each other again, seriously this time. In Boruto’s initial flash forward, the two Uzumaki brothers fight each other in one scenario Konoha completely destroyed.
