Undoubtedly the most important event of the year related to the comic universe, Comic Con 2022 is a fundamental showcase for the presentation of new comic series. A surprising announcement came during the Jim Lee & Friends panel: Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo will return to work in a crossover between Batman and spawn.
Incredible news considering the importance of the two artists who have worked together for many years in the past on the realization of the regular series of Spawn published by picture comicsa publishing company founded in 1992 by McFarlane himself and other comics legends. The last time the Caped Crusader had anything to do with Spawn was in 1994 history Batman / Spawn: War Devilswritten by Frank Miller and illustrated by McFarlane himself, which will be reprinted ahead of the new crossover's debut on November 15, 2022.
Batman/Spawn #1 will be released on December 13, 2022, and it will be a volume of 48 pages. Although the public tried to find out more by asking questions during the panel, for now all we know is that it's a one-shot story, although "#1" could imply a hypothetical sequel to the project. Greg Capullo was Spawn's main illustratorand thus constantly alongside McFarlane, from number 16 to 103, from 1993 to 2004, and also knows the main Batman title very well, having participated in the relaunch of Dark Knight with "The New 52" in 2011 with the screenwriter Scott Snyder.
