The animation studio PA Works, already known for having worked on anime of the caliber of Angel beats! is CharlotteHe recently returned to show Aquatope of White Sand, a new original anime by Toshiya Shinohara that will be released on July 8, 2021. The first rumors speak of a two-cour series with a total of 24/25 episodes.
The original project was announced shortly after The Day I Became a God ended, and apparently it will the only anime of 2021 by PA Works. At the moment the studio has only confirmed that it will be a “children’s story” and that the protagonists Kukuru Misakino and Fuuka Miyazawa will be spoken by Miku Ito (Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) e Rikako Aida (Riko Sakakarauchi in Love Live!).
PA Works described the plot of the anime as follows: “Kukuru Misakino, an 18-year-old high school student, works part-time at the Gama Gama Aquarium in Okinawa, an hour from Naha City. The aquarium hides a secret that few know: sometimes it even seems that you can see something mysterious. One day, Kukuru meets Fuuka, a girl who fled Tokyo after her dream of becoming an idol was shattered. Fuuka asks to be allowed to work on the aquarium, and after a few days the two of them begin to uncover the secret of this strange building.“.
