The weekly Shonen Jump has seen many mangaka in its ranks. Each of them created one or more series, many of which have been canceled and forgotten after a while, others have become global blockbusters. Fans often battle it out on the web for the magazine’s best manga between Dragon Ball, ONE PIECE and others. What if we limited ourselves to just the artistic factor?

A Japanese survey carried out on the Futabanet Manga Plus portal collected the opinion of 300 people between the ages of 30 and 59 to find out which mangaka were published in the Weekly Shonen Jump that they think have managed to become an art create that will impress you years later.

The ranking with i Weekly Shonen Jump’s top 10 mangaka for the artistic side is as follows:

  1. Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump): 15.7% of the vote;
  2. Tsukasa Hojo (City Hunter, Cat’s Eyes): 12% of the vote;
  3. Hirohiko Araki (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure): 9.3% of the vote;
  4. Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk): 8% of the vote;
  5. Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto): 7% of the vote;
  6. Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl Ai, DNAΒ², I’s): 6.3% of the vote;
  7. Eiichiro Oda (ONE PIECE): 6% of the vote;
  8. Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Bakuman, Hikaru no Go): 4.7% of the vote;
  9. Yusuke Murata (Eyeshield 21): 6% of the vote;
  10. Hisashi Eguchi (Susume !! Pirates, Stop !! Hibari-kun!) And Kentaro Yabuki (To Love Ru, Black Cat): Tie with 3.3% of the vote.

This poll allowed us to take a different look at the world of the manga, with readers usually withheld for their age. Do you agree with the ranking of the Futabanet site?
