Chapter 13: Children of the Forest

Past conversations between Levi and Zeke indirectly reveal plans. Nikolo's elegant and delicious restaurant is frequented by Blouse and his family, including Gaby and Falco. Suddenly Hange and his subordinates arrive, Jean is deceived because he can finally take the wine from the high command, but Nikolo takes it away from him by becoming xenophobic. The little Marleyenses' plan is to see Nikolo, but Gaby makes a mistake by revealing that he killed Sasha, which unleashes his anger against her. He takes them before the father of the deceased, but he forgives them and Nikolo gradually comes to his senses and reveals the wine. Another surprise visit: The Jeager faction with Eren and Floch themselves take all interns hostage while Eren stays to chat with his two best friends and Gaby.

Chapter Opinion

The development of the chapter was very emotional for me, especially for Nikolo, also for poor Falco and Gaby, who many hate. I am almost moved to tears because I managed to connect with the Marleyense who lost his lover. The theme of the chapter revolves around this page: Consequences of the living in the face of war casualties. On the other hand, it seems to me that the quality of the animation has deteriorated when we compare it to the first two chapters which were exquisite. The budget has apparently been left to animate the battles and it seems to me right that it went there and that the moments when they talk mostly have "poor" animation because resources are limited and the fan base is seeing through more is changed bad animation in battles.

If there hadn't been any fighting it would most likely have been a quality standard in the chapters. The good thing is that the same events keep the chapter up and reading the subtitles distracts from seeing these "mistakes". In any case, there is a lot to talk about today.

Gas and liquid

Levi and Zeke, an unequal couple who manage to function. To some extent, there are parallels between Erwin and Zeke, which makes me think the little soldier could have done with the Beast Titan. On the other hand, this tells how he managed to conquer the city and turn it into titans thanks to a gas extracted from its bone marrow. How is that achieved? We do not know. What is shown is that more people were involved.

Skipping Chapter Minutes Dramatically: Can Anyone Become a Titan? And I don't mean the special ones, but the normal ones. It's strange what Nicolo said about ten years ago, how Marley conquered a city from which titans came out of "nothing" and gave the liquid as an explanation. I have to assume that this liquid, which is a Titan, can partially transmit this power, thereby converting someone who is not Eldian. Anyway, it's a very effective tactic that has been upheld in a lie: whoever drinks gets petrified.

Poor Nikolo

For me, Nikolo was not only the focus for information, but also for his actions. I settled into him for the loss of the loved one who gave life a meaning. Sasha made him feel that his mission in the world was to make people happy with the dishes he prepared so that he would hide from wars and hostilities, but they came to him. I'm also sure that some will love Nikolo for beating Gaby. Although I appreciate Gaby, I do not blame Nikolo, as the girl proudly spoke about the murder she committed and thought that she would understand. But for some people, the love for the loved one is stronger than this blind "love" for the country, whereby the contrast between an adult who no longer wants ideals and a girl who is carried by idealizations is noted. Nikolo fell in love with a demon, one of the best demons in Paradis.

Revenge is never good, it kills and poisons the soul

The scene in which Nikolo gave the knife and Blouse's speech was the best of the chapter, well developed and with lively voices. Nikolo wanted revenge, discovered the murderer and handed him over to his father so that he could do justice: an eye for an eye. But old age brings wisdom to those who love it. Understanding the consequences of war doesn't work against Gaby, although she might hold a grudge but not hate. "The world is a gigantic forest where more life is stolen" and what sets us apart from the animals in this forest is humanity, able to forgive and understand, not blame those who only command follow, forgive the blind and blame the glare.

A real example of mutual respect and respect for the enemy's pain. Miguel Grau, captain of his monitor HuΓ‘scarin the naval battle of Iquique after the sinking of the Chilean ship emerald orders to save the Castaways. The Chilean hero Arturo Prat died in battle. Grau ordered the remains of the brave Chilean to be sent to his wife, who is now a widow, along with a letter in his own handwriting which is answered stating that the widow has no grudge against the Peruvian and he understands that it is Deals of war. Don Blouse and Ms. Carmela Carvajal have understood that there are no bad guys or good guys in war and that mutual respect must be maintained.

Romeo and Juliet

The classic love story that depicts the love between two people is possible even if they come from two hostile families. Nikolo and Sasha? Maybe just that he survived and did not indulge in the passion of the rapture of his own life. The drama makes it clear that love does not only depend on the two people, but that they are in a context and that the family is an important factor. In this case, it is greater because they are not just families but nations, and their consequences can be greater. If you know the name of the killer, you can get revenge because some of the pain can be so great that the anger won't go away even if you get along with the killer. It was the case of Kaya when he heard from Sasha that he wanted to kill Gaby, to no avail due to Mikasa's obstacle. "Why do my enemies, if they hate me, prevent my death and help me?" Gaby seems to be thinking.

Levi's confusion

How many times have you saved Eren? Did it really matter if they should finish him off now? Levi is furious when he finds out what Commander Pixis is up to to get someone to eat Eren. Shouldn't he be the one who was supposed to save humanity? Erwin's sacrifice and dreams were in vain? More than anger at what they are doing to Eren, it seems to me to be anger to see that Erwin's fight was just an illusion, to realize that things are deviating from the path his commander was taking. That's why he's confused. Which makes me think that Erwin would really have been right if and only if they were the last people. The fact that there is more makes them relate to them and initiates a contact in which one wants to command and the other does not want to obey but wants to be equal, but this struggle for equality becomes a struggle to subjugate the one who has subjugated me. That was Erwin's biggest misjudgment.

Kill, die

When things have calmed down in the dining room, Mikasa and Armin take Gaby to the other side, where they are left alone with her. The "Presser" asks why they are helping her, why they prevented her from being killed. Gaby is ready to die, it seems that she wants to die, because only then can she be a martyr and a role model to follow. Mikasa tells him that there is no particular reason. Gaby, like Azula at the end of Book III: Crazy, says that they want to kill her, that they hate her for her partner's death too. Armin points out that all she thinks about is how to kill him, I suppose he is referring to Eren. Gaby is the perfect soldier, ready to give her life and keep killing. Life in her was reduced to that: heroes and enemies / demons. And Gaby isn't far from the character I hate the most.

I hate you floch

Gaby can be forgiven for being a girl, to some extent Blouse says: We have to get the children out of the forest, otherwise the same thing will always happen. It's like the hate cycle that Naruto is talking about. And one child who was not saved is Floch, who on a fanatical level shares the same characteristics as Gaby. Actually, there are several people like Floch and Gaby. The pictures speak for themselves, so I just say: I hate you, Floch.

What will Mikasa, Armin, Gabygod and Eren talk about? This really intrigues me, so I'm going to read the manga. Many must have already found out what happened there. 2007 asks for its end back. There are 3 chapters left, the rumble won't go away, the movie is most likely, there is no going except for the dreaded original ending ...
