The serialization of the manga from The quintessence of the quintuplets ended in 2020, but Negi Haruba’s work will return soon with a bonus chapter. To commemorate the upcoming anime movie, the author will come out with a one-shot set after the grand finale.

The success of The Quintessential Quintuplets has been made into an anime adaptation divided into two seasons, both available in the Crunchyroll catalogue. However, for the series finale, the staff preferred to make one animated feature filmrather than a third and final season.

The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie hits Japanese cinemas on May 20, 2022 and will reveal which of the Nakano twins manage to win the heart of their tutor Uesugi Futato. To celebrate the premiere, Negi Haruba brings one at the same time Manga bonus chapter. This one, titled Chapter 122 + 1, is given as a tribute to those who buy a ticket to see the anime film premiere.

Later, the one-shot set comes after the opera’s finale also published in Weekly Shonen Magazine by Kodansha. At the moment there is no official status for a possible, but more than likely translation into English.
