The Japanese portal Oricon reported on January 22nd on the ranking of the best-selling manga volumes in the week between January 11th and 17th of this year, with the fifteen volumes of the manga out Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen ((including "Zero Volume") take all positions after the first (that is, from the second to the sixteenth). The manga's fourteenth volume sold 190,724 copies that week, a total of 845,366 since its January 4 launch.
On the other hand, the thirty-third compilation volume of the manga Hajime isayama, Shingeki no Kyojin ((attack on Titan) was the start that reached first place in the ranking. Jujutsu Kaisen had 8.5 million copies in circulation in October 2020 and 20 million copies on January 13 (not sold, but also digitally). That means the series has grown 235% since the premiere of its animated adaptation.
Gege Akutami started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha in March 2018. The play inspired an anime adaptation that is currently airing and confirmed with a total of 24 episodes to be produced by the studios MAPPA Headed by Seong-Hu Park ((Garo: Disappearing line, The god of high school) and scripts from Hiroshi seko ((Ajin, Dorohedoro, Inuyashiki).
