Tokyo Ghoul Synopsis

Tokyo has become a cruel and ruthless city, a place where wild creatures known as "ghouls" coexist with humans. The citizens of this once great metropolis live in constant fear of these bloodthirsty savages who hunger for human flesh. However, the greatest threat to these ghouls is their dangerous ability to impersonate humans and blend in with society.

The story then follows Ken Kaneki, a shy college student who immediately became interested in Rize Kamishiro, an avid reader like him. Rize is not quite what it seems, however, and this unfortunate encounter plunges Kaneki into the dark depths of the inhuman world of ghouls. In a twist of fate, Kaneki is rescued by the enigmatic waitress Touka Kirishima and begins his new secret life as a half ghoul / half human who has to integrate into both societies.
