Twitter account @HxH_kyusai_botfollowing the break of the manga that was written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi, Hunter X Hunter, reported on February 2 that the work had reached 800 days with no new chapter published. The post inspired a reaction that went viral in Japan: “Thank you for keeping us posted. When I thought that it might take Togashi-sensei about 800 days to plan the next chapter, I saw it really positively and was excited when that happened. Until Togashi-sensei picks up Hunter x Hunter again, we’ll continue to be an account that lives on 100 yen meals a day».

The last sentence refers to the publication’s own “goal”, the description of which is: «An account that lives on 100 yen meals a day until Togashi-sensei decides to resume Hunter x Hunter. Rules: Health comes first, now more with the COVID-19 pandemic. Spices and coffee are not included in the money count». The report also announced his last meal, following this principle.

Since August 2020, with a total of 81 issues, the series had broken its record for the longest break in the magazine’s absence, breaking its old record between 2014 and 2016 with 79 issues. It should be noted that the time when more chapters were published consecutively was between issues 35 of 2011 and 16 of 2012, i.e. between 30 chapters.

Of course, while the update is already the be-all and end-all for fans, some can’t help but express their concern about Togashi himself. The famous artist has formidable talent and works by his name, but his struggles with chronic back pain are well known.. Togashi has gone into at length about the problems coming off his back and how drawing makes them worse. Hence, the first priority for all fans should be the author’s health, even if it means walking hand in hand towards the 1,000 days without a chapter.. Yes One piece If you’ve only hit chapter 1,000, Hunter x Hunter could take the same number and adjust it to its own record.

On the other hand, Hunter x Hunter is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi, who published it in the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha since March 1998.
