The author of the manga via his official Twitter account Gotoubun no Hanayome, Negi Haruba, shared an update with the manga from Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, Sousou no freezing. The publication says: "Wow, "Sousou no Freeze" is pretty good".

Yamada and Abe started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in April 2020. The story revolves around Freezing, a member of the group of heroes who defeated the Demon King. As a wizard and elf, this aspect separated him from the other members. You have a longer life expectancy than others and you don't know what to think of it.

For his part, Haruba published the original manga on the magazine's pages Weekly Shonen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha between August 2017 and February 2020 with a total of 14 compiled volumes. The manga was no longer reprinted in serialized form, but was reprinted in full-color, with the first being released on April 17th.

The piece inspired an anime adaptation released in January 2019 and a second season that is now set to premiere in January 2021. Rumor has it that the second season will feature an original story, but it has not been confirmed.
