The first expansion of Yu-Gi-Oh! of 2023 has finally arrived in specialty stores: Konami has indeed confirmed that the The Incredible Defenders set is available starting today for purchase by fans. Let's see what's new in the brand new expansion of the TCG penned by Kazuki Takahashi.

Incredible Defenders contains 60 different maps, consisting of 35 rare cards, 15 super rare cards and 10 ultra rare cards. So it's a sentence everything foil, in which it will also be possible to find ten cards in a double Collector's Rare version, but with a rarity much higher than that of the rest of the stickers included in the expansion packs. Furthermore, Each pack contains 7 cardsincluding six rares and one super or ultra rare.

Like every set of card list reduced, Incredible Defenders aims reinforce existing archetypes while also introducing new strategies and new card types to be explored in future expansions of the TCG. In particular, Konami promises synergies with the Yu-Gi-Oh! Darkwing Blast, which hit stores in December, and with the upcoming Photonic Hypernova, which will be released on February 9th instead.

As for the absolute novelties, Incredible Defenders will present the three archetypes Rescue ACE, Mikanko and Expurrellyeach based on a different mechanic and having their own Monster Bosses also featured on each pack of the expansion. The latter will be called "Rescue-ACE Turbulence", "Ohime the Mikanko Manifested" and "Expurrelly Happiness", respectively.

The first card will be a powerful one Season with 3000 Attack Points effect and 3000 defense points. The second, however, will be a Ritual Monster, with 0 Attack and Defense, but endowed with an effect that alone could allow you to win a duel. Finally, the third is an XYZ monster with effect and 2500 attack and 1100 defense points. It only remains to be seen if the three archetypes will prove solid enough already with the sole support introduced by Incredible Defenders, or if that will be required instead waiting for the next sets of 2023 to see a twist of the metagame by Yu-Gi-Oh!.
