The latest edition of Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon confirms this Vinland saga, Makoto Yukimura’s highly regarded manga his, will have an important announcement in the next issue, will be released on July 26, 2021. The two most likely options are currently the announcement of the anime’s second season or the start of the climax given the story finale.
The Vinland Saga Manga entered the final narrative arc in the final quarter of 2019, and today, a year and a half later, we are even closer to the finale. Yukimura’s statements had suggested a set of conclusions for the generic 2023, however it is possible that the climax of the story is almost upon us.
The much more likely alternative is the anime’s second season announcement, which has been confirmed several times by the staff at WIT Studio and has been in production for at least a year and a half. The first season of Vinland Saga has adapted the first 8 volumes of the manga and transposed the narrative arc of the prologue. The second season, if it consists of another 24 episodes, should adapt the story arc Farmland Saga. and stop just before the start of volume 15. A total of 24 volumes are available for the manga.
