If My Hero Academia chapter 317 clarified one thing, is that Izuku Midoriya is no longer the hero we are used to. After all the events unleashed over the course of the last two narrative strands, the protagonist began to hate his weakness and doubt his own resources, and in the latest publication We saw a big change.
In chapter 317 of My Hero Academia we saw a growing Izuku Midoriya, full of scars, anger and frustration, but always determined to find All for One. The real turning point of the chapter, however, is not the vision that Japanese citizens have of the protagonist, nor the possible intervention of Class 1-A to save their partner (suggested by Shoto Todoroki’s call to Endeavor), but the words Deku addressed to All Might and the sudden appearance of Stain.
In the latest edition, Deku decided to forego the support of All Might and stated that he has now learned everything and have a power that corresponds to the maximum power achieved by the former peace symbol. The protagonist, now a vigilante, just wants to defeat the mercenaries on his trail and find clues that will lead him to All for One, and the fight while protecting his mentor could prove difficult. This is where stain could come into play.
In the last part of chapter 317, it is possible to see the assassin Stain hiding behind a wall while pawning Midoriya. According to many fans, the antagonist is looking for revenge, but as we all know Stains’ philosophy is completely different from that of the other villains. Stain is an extremist who wants to save and help “real heroes” and kill others, and right now there is no more heroic figure than Izuku Midoriya, at least according to the antagonist’s cannons.
In the last few hours another theory has prevailed: After the connections to 1-A and All Might were cut, Midoriya could accept Stain’s help and even work with him, in some sort of pact with the devil that could lead him straight out of the Union of Villains. Stain is an expert in the field, and Deku has already agreed to work with Lady Nagant and Overhaul, two ruthless murders.
What do you think of that? Would you like Midoriya and Stain to work together? Do you think it’s possible? Let us know in the comments! In the meantime, we remind you that we will receive the first replies in Chapter 318 of My Hero Academia on Sunday, June 27th at 6:00 p.m. on MangaPlus.
