Viking tales have been all the rage in recent years, with products like God of War and Vikings making waves. At the same time, the Vinland Saga anime was also broadcast, even if this little gem is of more distant origin. As a matter of fact, Vinland saga is a manga written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura in 2005.

Originally published in Weekly Shonen Magazine and thus treated as Shonen, Vinland Saga is actually moved to Afternoon, a Sein-style monthly magazine, after a very short time. Set in Europe in 1013, the story follows the adventures of Thorfinn, a young Viking warrior who seeks revenge on Askeladd, his former boss, for murdering his father.

This first plot node was handled by the acclaimed first season of Vinland Saga, in which young Thorfinn followed Askeladd to the point of losing his goal. A defining moment for the boy, but his life is not over yet, and in fact he is watching the sequel Season 2 of the Vinland sagawhich has been airing on Crunchyroll and Netflix for a few weeks.

But It can be said that Vinland Saga Season 2 is better than the first? Obviously, these are personal opinions that change from viewer to viewer. What is certain is that the series has completely changed in recent years, moving from an atmosphere full of battles and action to one that is instead very much focused on introspection. Thorfinn is not the same anymore and because of that the series has changed with him. The new path he must seek will lead him to further reflections.

So it's like asking whether the puberty phase or the adult phase is better. Each has its pros and cons and so Thorfinn can do little but keep going, with an always flat technical sector behind him. Of course, a large part of the season still has to be broadcast. And you You are enjoying Vinland Saga Season 2?
