Anime Expo 2022 brought many events. The various panels dedicated to the Japanese animation industry made it possible to observe the announcements of unreleased works or to deepen those that had already been unveiled in the past. Among the new arrivals of this year 2022, Crunchyroll has entered the anime of Tomo-chan is a girl.

Fumita Yanagida’s 4koma manga will become an anime in 2023. During Anime Expo 2022, there was this very revelation, complete with Trailer for Tomo-chan is a girl representing the atmosphere of romcom. It begins with the presentation of the story’s two protagonists, Tomo and Jun, along with their associated voice actors. It continues with different scenes that introduce the other main characters and help develop the feelings between the two protagonists.

Crunchyroll reveals that Tomo-chan is a Girl will debut in January 2023 on the platform, which also reveals the cast, consisting of:

  • Rie Takahashi as the voice of Tomo Aizawa;
  • Kaito Ishikawa as the voice of Junichiro Kubota;
  • Sally Amaki as the voice of Carol Olston;
  • Rina Hidaka as the voice of Misuzu Gundo.

Studio Lay-Duce will direct the series, with Hitoshi Namba as director and Noriko Hashimoto as assistant. Megumi Shimizu is the screenwriter, Shiori Hiraiwa is the character designer, while Masaru Yokoyama is in charge of composing the music.
