Based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, The wither is one of the most popular video game sagas in the community. The success of Geralt's adventure prompted CD Projekt Red, the software company responsible for the video game, to collaborate with Netflix on a TV series and an anime about which we now have new information.

During the WitcherCon, a conference that is entirely dedicated to the world of The Witcher, the streaming giant and the software house presented the second season of The Witcher series. Not only that, it was revealed that the The Witcher release date: Nightmare of the Wolf, Anime that follows the events of Vesemir, mentor and friend of Geralt of Rivia.

So after Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, the love story between Netflix and the animated adaptations of the best video game franchises continues. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, however, will not be based on Geralt, but on Vesemir and thus be precursor. The anime, which hits the streaming giant's catalog on August 23, was officially unveiled at WitcherCon through a first official trailer, which you can find at the end of the article.

At the helm of the anime for Studio Mir are The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and writer Beau DeMayo. The Witcher: Wolf's Nightmare it will be canonical and is based on the material from Sapkowski's books.
