With the broadcast of the twelfth episode, the anime’s first narrative arc of Tokyo Avenger. Back in the present, it’s time for Takemichi to take stock. Did his journey into the past change the course of things, or did what he did prove to be completely useless?
With the title “Revenge” the Tokyo Revengers episode 12 closes first saga of the animes. Before we plunge headlong into the second course “Bloody Halloween”, it’s time for Takemichi to get back to his everyday life.
When Takemichi arrives at the hairdresser, where his best friend Akkun works, who has therefore not committed suicide, Takemichi receives a call from Naoto. The policeman invites him to visit his sister. The protagonist’s journey into the past turned out to be fruitful; Hinata Tachibana is still alive.
But when Takemichi reaches the house of his girlfriend at the time, he realizes that too much time has passed since their last conversation. Takemichi once again proves his cowardice and withdraws, Run away. Once at the threshold of the building, however, the entrance doors open; Hina and Takemichi meet.
At a glance you understand how much the two still hold on to each other, but years of distance lead to you uncomfortable silence. Accompanied by Naoto, the two ex-friends cannot say a word. To stir up the situation, the policeman invites them to take a ride in the car.
Suddenly, however, Naoto is put back into service and leaves the two of them alone. Although Takemichi notices the necklace from Hina that he had given her twelve years earlier, the boy is convinced that it is a different pendant. But when they stop on the shore of a lake and Hina reveals his feelings, the protagonist understands that there is still passion between the two.
One small detail impresses Takemichi, however, who escapes to a public toilet and invites the girl to get back in the car. In this timeline, on the night of December 24th itself left Hina.
When the protagonist comes out of the bathroom, he comes across a mysterious figure who utters equally mysterious words. Within seconds, Takemichi realizes that the man is it is none other than hanma.
Takemichi rushes back to the parking lot, but only to see one creepy scene. Starting at full speed, a gigantic off-road vehicle overwhelms the little city runabout in which Hina is sitting.
The catastrophic impact causes damage that leaves no room for doubt. But when Takemichi approaches the off-road vehicle, he notices that Akkun is driving. Once again, his friend committed murder for fear of Toman. In the flames Akkun greets Takemichiinvites him to change the course of things.
In tears, Takemichi runs to Hina to get her out of the burning car. However, the girl is stuck in the seat and it is impossible to save her. With a tender embrace, Takemichi reveals that he loves her in the present, the past and also in the future.
Pushed away so as not to die, Takemichi takes on theExplosion of the two cars, as well as Hina’s death. In this timeline, too, the girl did not escape Toman’s brutality. However, Takemichi is determined to go back in time, become the leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, and save all of his friends.
