Summary of Busu ni Hanataba wo

Despite what the meaning of her name might suggest, Hana Tabata is nothing like a flower. His eyes are too small and his limbs are anything but thin. She is indeed "ugly" and as such she knows that pretty things and fairytale romance are out of her league. However, that doesn't stop her from daydreaming each morning while tending the school's beautiful flower beds, which contrast with her exterior.

One day, through a chance encounter, Tabata comes into contact with his classmate Yousuke Ueno, who is known for being both handsome and extremely friendly. Why does such a popular student reference a background character like her? It's an unfathomable situation for Tabata, but can Ueno show him that looks aren't everything?
