On the official Twitter account of the multimedia franchise of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica ((Puella Magi Madoka Magica) a special illustration was released as part of the franchise’s 10th anniversary. The illustration was made by Aka Akasaka, Author of works like Kaguya-sama: love is war Yes Oshi no Ko.
Also, the original anime was created by the creative group creative Magica Quartet, consisting of the director Akiyuki Shinbo, the screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, the character designer Ume Aoki and the producer Atsuhiro Iwakami, and it aired on January 7, 2011 for a total of twelve episodes. The work has inspired a variety of spin-off manga, novels, and video games, some of which have inspired their own anime adaptations.
The production of a new animated film entitled Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten ((Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten), was announced as part of the franchise’s 10th anniversary special event, where production is responsible for the studios WAVE but without revealing a specific release date.
Summary of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Madoka Kanami and Sayaka Miki are normal high school girls with regular lives, but that changes when they meet Kyuubey, a magical feline creature, and Homura Akemi, the new transfer student. Kyuubey makes them a proposal: he will grant their every wish and in return each of them will become a magical girl (mahou shoujo) who will be given the power to make their dreams come true.
However, Homura Akemi, who is already a magical girl, tells her not to take the offer as it is not as good as it sounds. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is a story about hope, despair and friendship, the difficulties of becoming and being a magical girl, and the high price that has to be paid to make a dream come true.
