During the event “MF Bunko J summer party‘, the franchise written on the light novels by nigojuu and illustrated by Umibouzu, Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru (The detective is already dead) announced the production of a second season for its anime adaptation. Production details and release date will be announced shortly.
To celebrate the announcement, a special illustration was created by UmibouzuGraphic Novel Artist.
nigojuu the publication of the novels on the website began kakuyomuand later began its publication on paper with illustrations by Umibouzu by the publisher media factory in November 2019. A manga adaptation by Mugiko will be published via the magazine Monthly Comic Alive from the publisher Kadokawa since May 2020.
The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by ENGI Studios, directed by Manabu Kurihara and scripted by Deko Akao, and released during the 2021 summer season (July to September). The platforms Crunchyroll/Funimation is responsible for western distribution, including a dubbing into Latin Spanish.
Summary of Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru
Kimizuka Kimihiko is a crisis magnet. Whether you’re caught at a crime scene or accidentally witnessing a drug deal, trouble seems to be around every corner. No wonder, then, that your rather mundane flight suddenly finds itself in a state of emergency and a detective is urgently needed on board. Unfortunately, his attempt to avoid trouble is thwarted by a beautiful silver haired girl codenamed Siesta. Declaring herself a detective, she unceremoniously brings Kimizuka on the case as her assistant.
This incident marked the beginning of an adventure around the world that went beyond his wildest imagination. The two put their lives on the line, toppling criminal organizations, preventing disasters and saving thousands. But the curtain closed on their epic journey with Siesta’s untimely death three years later. This time, Kimizuka, determined to live a normal life in high school, spends a year holding back. As fate would have it, however, a girl with an uncanny resemblance to Siesta bursts into his life and threatens to ruin his days of peace.
