Leading anime series “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” has unveiled plans for its highly anticipated second season, set to premiere January 12, 2025, across Japanese television networks and global streaming platforms.

The production’s official website released a promotional video showcasing new heroines and introducing “Arigato, Daisuki nor Natte Kurete” as the opening theme, performed by the series’ voice actresses under the unit name “Rentaro Family.” The theme song CD is scheduled for release on February 5, 2025.

Returning Creative Team

Director Hikaru Sato leads the production team at Bibury Animation Studio, with Takashi Aoshima continuing as series script supervisor. The artistic direction remains in trusted hands with Akane Yano as lead character designer, joined by Tsumugi Maeda for sub-character and costume design. The musical composition team of Shuhei Mutsuki, Shunsuke Takizawa, and ebara continues their work from the previous season.

New Voice Cast Additions

Four prominent voice actresses join the existing cast:

  • Amane Shindo as Kurumi Haraga
  • Rie Takahashi as Iku Suto
  • Lynn as Mimimi Utsukushisugi
  • Kanon Takao as Kakure Meme

Distribution Details

Crunchyroll secures distribution rights for America, offering both subtitled and dubbed versions, continuing their partnership from the first season.

The 100 Girlfriends second season

Background

The series, based on the manga by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa, began its serialization in Weekly Young Jump in December 2019. The story follows Rentarō Aijo’s unique predicament of managing relationships with 100 destined soulmates, each requiring his genuine affection to avoid tragic consequences.

The announcement comes as the series continues to build on the success of its first season, which debuted in October 2023.
