Studio Ghibli’s official Twitter account posted a crossover image between the iconic feature film My neighbor Totoro is Monster & Co., the breathtaking Pixar animated film. The picture captures the iconic rain scene with Totoro, Mei and Satsuki and replaces the two girls with Mike and Sulley.
On April 14th, the Twitter account published a picture showing the catchy tune of Earwig and the witch While looking at a painting with the same illustration, it was purposely blurred to keep the surprise effect. On this occasion the Twitter account had written “Pixar, we love you!You can see both images below.
John Lasseter, former creative director of Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios, has always been with us excellent relationships with Studio Ghibli and in particular with director Hayao Miyazaki, as a colleague and very good friend. Lasster even personally staged the English dub of Spirited Away, Porco Rosso and Ponyo and added a beautiful cameo from Totoro to Toy Story 3.
Unlike the great Ghibli masterpieces, Earwig and the Witch didn’t launch in the US and will most likely be remembered as one of the studio’s least successful feature films. In spite of everything, Hayao Miyazaki is already ready to return with a new film in 2022, How do you live? And Pixar will surely get support too.
