The universe of Pokemon shaped the generation of children born between the late 1980s and early 1990s. Many of them today have successful careers and would like to remember the hours they spent alongside the monsters on their Game Boys, as in the case of the songwriter. Ed Sheeran and her new single Celestial.
Celestial was released on September 29, 2022 and as a result of a Official collaboration with the Pokémon branda merger that, in just a few hours, racked up more than a million and a half plays on YouTube alone.
The video featured at the top of the page shows a full day Ed Sheeran spent alongside his trusty Pokémon, from the electric Pikachu to the clumsy Charmander and Squirtle to the Snorlax Sprocket and the powerful Machamp. The video featured Koji Takanabe, Director of CG Animation produced by Morie Inc., and Kotaro Azuma as lead animator, known for working on BELLE, Hosoda’s masterpiece.
Celestial is an extraordinary hymn to the first, unforgettable generation of wearable monsters designed by Satoshi Tajiri and designed by Ken Sugimori. At the end of the video, where we move on to a style closer to what we saw in the anime, comes the confirmation that the single Celestial will be part of the soundtrack of the Pokémon games Scarlet and Violet, which will be released on November 18, 2022 for Nintendo Switch. And what do you think of this collaboration? Tell us in the comments.
