With the release of Chapter 997 of ONE PIECE, There are only three exits that separate us from the arrival of the highly anticipated number 1000and apparently Eiichiro Oda is the first not in the skin. The author started a nice countdown for a few months and announced a new illustration yesterday in connection with the release of Chapter 997.

The latest work of art is dedicated to Nami, the second member to join Luffy's crew after Roronoa Zoro, who appears to be the protagonist of the next illustration. Nami is depicted in the classic pre-timeskip design, with short hair and the well-hidden Pirates of Arlong tattoo.

Nami is one of the favorite characters of Oda's opera fans, and not so long ago she starred in the first issue of ONE PIECE: Heroines, which is featured in volume eight of ONE PIECE Magazine. The character is also the feminine symbol of Weekly Shonen Jump, as well as a female character who has appeared on the magazine's covers several times. Soon after, Ochaco Uraraka from My Hero Academia and Noelle Silva from Black Clover stand out.

And what do you think of Nami? Do you prefer the new or the old design? Please let us know by leaving a comment in the box below! In the meantime, we refer you to the latest statements from Eiichiro Oda about a possible sequel to ONE PIECE.
