ONE PIECE: The Whitebeard war saga summary from Amazon Lily to Marineford

Separated from Bartholomew to escape naval attack in the Sabaody Archipelago, the Mugiwara are unable to continue their journey. Luffy finds himself on Amazon Lily, an island inhabited only by women and ruled by Boa Hancock, a member of the Fleet of Seven who falls in love with the protagonist. Thus begins the sixth great saga of ONE PIECE.

On the island, Luffy finds out Ace is to be executed. Determined to save him, the protagonist manages to infiltrate Impel Down, the world government’s maximum security prison. The intrusion is discovered and Luffy takes on MagellanWarden of the prison who can create poison thanks to the powers of the fruit Doku Doku, one of the strongest Paramisha in the manga.

Thanks to improvised alliances with old acquaintances like Buggy, Crocodile and new characters like Jinbe and Emporio Ivankov Luffy will manage to escape from prison after learning that Ace is already on his way to Marineford and is traveling to Navy Headquarters along with his new allies.

Upon their arrival in Marineford they find Whitebeard’s fleet. The Emperor is here to rescue and yield to Ace, a member of his crew and the son of his old rival Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King one of the greatest wars of the modern era of piracy. Luffy will try in every possible way to get close to Ace and save him from the guards who wanted to execute him with the ambition of the conqueror king.

However, the protagonist’s attempts to defend him from Akainu’s attack will be useless, Ace will shield himself with his own body and be killed by the admiral’s magma. Ace’s departure is followed by Whitebeard’s death at the hands of Blackbeard’s pirates. However, on the brink of death, the Emperor reaffirms the existence of the ONE PIECE.

Blackbeard somehow steals the powers of the gura gura fruit and the war ends when Shanks arrives. there Whitebeard’s War Saga, narrated from chapters 514 to 597ends with a flashback dedicated to the childhood of Luffy, Ace and Sabo and with the protagonist who, through a photo published in the newspapers, tells his companions that two years later they should meet in the Sabaody archipelago.
