That Eiichiro Oda was very inspired by Dragon Ball when designing his greatest masterpiece, ONE PIECE, it's a fact. In fact, the sensei adopted some of the Toriyama gem's properties to improve his work, even if not all ideas had a raison d'Γͺtre.

In an interview with Eiichiro Oda a week ago, the author reiterated his connection with Dragon Ball, which was originally inspired to build the success of its serialization. Today ONE PIECE is one of the most famous mangas in the world, but not all of the ideas originally proposed have brought the hoped-for success.

In the course of Dragon Ball Roller Skill and the ability of Toriyama's characters to understand the combat level of different opponents, Oda had envisioned Doriki, or that which measured man's strength without considering his fruit of the devil. The only one who could measure it at the time of its introduction was Fukuro thanks to its technique of Tea water. Usually a Marine armed with a rifle was worth only 10 Doriki, while CP9 members Rob Lucci, Kaku and Jabura were worth 4000, 2200 and 2180 Doriki, respectively.

In the end, Oda stopped taking advantage of this system, which did not bring the hoped-for success, but he kept the bounties as indicators of the strength of the various pirates. On the other hand, what do you think of the Doriki, was that a good idea? Let us know what you think about this with a comment below.
