Shy 16-year-old Rito Yuuki has not yet confessed to Haruna Sairenji, a classmate and object of his love since high school. Unfortunately, their situation becomes even more difficult when one night a completely naked, mysterious girl lands on Rito while he is taking a shower.

To add to the confusion, Rito discovers that the girl, Lala Satalin Deviluke, is the crown princess of an alien realm and has run away from her home. Despite her position as the heir to the most dominant throne in the galaxy, Lala is surprisingly more than willing to marry an average Rito boy, thereby avoiding an unwanted political marriage.
