A new promotional video has been released for the highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of SIU’s webtoon, Tower of God. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for July 7 in Japan and gives fans a sneak peek of the opening theme, “RISE UP”, performed by NiziU.
Two-Part Season Ahead
While not officially confirmed, a previous leak suggests that the second season will be divided into two parts, consisting of six semesters of broadcast. This is logical, given that the “Return of the Prince Arc” and the “Factory Battle Arc” take place many years after the beginning of the story.
Background and Production Team
The original webtoon, published by SIU on Naver Webtoon since 2010, has inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Telecom Animation Film, which premiered in April 2020. The webtoon has faced multiple suspensions due to the author’s physical exhaustion.
The new production team includes Kazuyoshi Takeuchi as general director, Akira Suzuki as director, and Erika Yoshida returning to write and supervise the scripts. The voice cast remains the same, with Taichi Ichikawa as Jyu Viole Grace, Saori Hayami as Rachel, and more.
