A press release from the publisher Earthstar Entertainment reported that the light novels were written by Mojikakiya and illustrated by Toi8, My daughter left the nest and returned as an S-rank adventurer (Boukensha or Naritai to Miyako or Deteitta Musume ga S-Rank or Natteta), will have an anime adaptation. The press release did not reveal any production details or a planned release date.

Mojikakiya The publication of the novels in the service began Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017 and finished it in 2020. The editor Earthstar Entertainment released the eleventh and final volume of paperback light novels in November 2021 in Japan. Likewise, Kuu Urushibara is responsible for a manga adaptation that will be published through the service Weird Earth Star since May 2018.

After losing his leg as a novice adventurer, he retired and returned to his hometown in the countryside. With things like gathering medicinal herbs, eradicating magical and wild beasts, and helping the villagers with their farming chores, it’s hard to decide whether to call our protagonist an adventurer or a handyman. And while he was doing these things his age was fast approaching thirty. One day, while looking for herbs in the mountains, he discovered an abandoned child. Thinking she couldn’t just leave him like that, she took him home and raised him until he was about forty. His daughter, now grown, also wanted to be an adventurer, probably because she grew up with her father.

Though his father taught him to use the sword to defend himself from a young age, his talent at it was quite impressive. Our protagonist thought it would be better for her not to stay in the countryside for the rest of her life and sent her to the adventurers’ guild in the capital. Five more years later, the forty-year-old protagonist is still acting as a pseudo-adventurer in the countryside, but his daughter, who is now a distinguished S-Class adventuress, has never returned home…
