A leak from China via baidu confirmed that the light novels were written by yuki yaku and illustrated by Fly, Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun (Subordinate character Tomozaki), they will have a new animation project. The leak didn’t specify the details of the project, so it’s not clear yet if it’s going to be a second season, a feature film, or just a new OVA. More details will be announced in Japan today.

Yaku started publishing the light novels via the imprint Gagaga Bunko from Shogakukan in May 2016. In January 2021 the publisher published the ninth volume. In addition to the manga adaptation of Bana Yoshida, the play inspired a studio-produced 12-episode anime adaptation Project #9, and released in Japan in January 2021. Although the author asked his fans to support the production, sales of the compilation Blu-ray/DVD packages were poor.
