A few hours ago an old documentary with the master of horror was online again Junji Ito, interviewed on the occasion by another great mangaka, the author of Monster Naoki Urasawa. During the short film, he reacted to some drawings by Uzumaki's author, ironically calling them "disgusting".

Below you can check out the image that has popped up on the internet in the past few hours. Urasawa comments on one of Junji Ito's drawings as follows: "It's really disgusting, but how do you feel about certain things? This picture is insane", Compliments on his ingenuity. Urasawa is certainly no stranger to the horror genreBut when Junji Ito pulls out a mouth with multiple teeth, the mangaka can only tremble.

In the documentary that was released in Japan in 2014 and arrived in the West just a few months ago, Ito replies: "I started from the idea that the body is made up of three rings (Ed. Probable reference to the Borromean knot)and after I started drawing I wondered what the inside of a mouth would look like if it had multiple layers. I don't think that would really be the case [...] but for me it's about taking an absurd premise and making it believableThe drawing must therefore always be realistic"Successful mission for Junji Ito, and who knows that Urasawa will also be inspired by these suggestions in the future.

What do you think about it? Do you like these two writers? Let us know with a comment! In the meantime, we'd like to remind you that Junji Ito's Frankenstein is now available in Italy, along with many other fall releases from J-Pop Manga.
