Summary of Sousou no Freeze

The Demon King has been defeated and the victorious band of heroes have returned to their respective homes after being disbanded. The four of them – the magician Freeze, the hero Heaven, the priest Heiter and the warrior Iron – reminisce about their decades-long journey as they say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, so Freeze witnesses his beloved companions slowly die.

Before his death, Heiter manages to force a young human apprentice named Fern to freeze. Fueled by the elf’s passion for collecting a large number of magical spells, the two embark on a seemingly aimless journey, visiting the places that ancient heroes have visited. During his travels, Freeze slowly wrestles with his missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with his now-dead comrades.
