Lupine III, has now become an icon of Japanese animation thanks to the numerous productions including feature films, series and specials that propose his adventures to arouse the interest of the new generations. This time around, however, TMS Entertainment has invested in a project that’s radically different from what it’s seen in the past.

The animation studio, together with Wright Film, has announced a six-episode miniseries dedicated to the youth of the most famous anime thief. Justified Lupine Zerothe series will debut in Japan in the month December 2022and to announce this, the two companies released the key visual that appears at the bottom of the page and the teaser trailer that you can see at the top of the news.

The story takes place in the Tokyo 1960s and will show the vicissitudes of a thirteen-year-old Lupin, and perhaps reveal some more details about his origins. Produced by Telecom Animation Film, the series is directed by Daisuke Sako, key artists in several previous productions associated with Lupine, while Ichiko Okouchi and Asami Taguchi handled script and character design, respectively. The anime has also been confirmed to contain both direct references to the manga Kazuhiko Kato, also known as Monkey Punchboth completely original stories.
