On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Hotondo shindeiru, Isekai Ojisan (Uncle from another world) a special promotional illustration was released to celebrate the thirty-third anniversary of the console’s release Sega genesis in Japan, celebrated on October 29th. In the animated graphics posted on the official Twitter account, you can see screenshots of the popular video game Golden ax, one of the console titles of the time.
The anime adaptation has not revealed any production details or a release date. For his part, Hotondo shindeiru Publish the manga through the service ComicWalker from the publisher Kadokawa since June 2018 after being independently posted on Twitter and Pixiv for a while. The publisher released the fifth compiled volume in October 2020, followed by the sixth on June 23 in Japan. The literary franchise has exceeded 1.5 million copies.
Summary of Isekai Ojisan
Fall 2017. The nephew Takafumi went to the hospital to visit his uncle, who had just awakened from a seventeen-year-old coma. However, it seems that he has lost his mind as he claims that he was in another world called “Grand Bahamar” all along and even seems to be speaking some strange language. But everything changes when his uncle, an ordinary person, shows him that he has learned magic in the other world. When Takafumi realizes that his uncle’s magic is absolutely real, he suggests using his skills to become a successful YouTuber. Now Takafumi and his uncle take care of him and begin to immerse themselves in the life of streaming, while his uncle tells him from time to time about his life in the other world.
