The anime was scheduled to premiere in July, however, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on production, the decision was made to delay the premiere until October of this year.
For his part, Ishida has written thirteen novels for the series. It inspired a popular live-action series in 2000, as well as a special in 2003. Synopsis of Ikebukuro West Gate Park
The mystery novel is set in the Ikebukuro neighborhood of Tokyo, under the eponym Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Kōen. The story centers on Makoto Majima, the son of a local fruit vendor and known as the “Ikebukuro problem solver”. The boy helps everyone, from friends to strangers, to solve many and varied incidents.
