From next July Marvel will dust off a famous Hulk storyline and give it a spiritual following: Let’s talk about the Planet Hulk saga that Marvel Studios brought to live action in the third film dedicated to Thor (here is our review of Thor Ragnarok).
Featuring the release of Hulk #9, screenwriter Donny Cates and artist Ryan Ottley will begin the ‘Hulk Planet’ storyline The Starship Hulk will arrive on a planet populated exclusively by gamma creatures due to the radiation from its sun.
“Donny Cates is the kind of screenwriter that empowers artists to do what they do best and allows them to reach new heights.“said Ottley.”He’s the kind of screenwriter who writes like he’s on a billion dollar budget – and that’s fine with me! I have the opportunity to do my best. He knows my job well and he knows what I’m capable of and he also knows what he wants from me“.
Ryan Ottley, in announcing this new saga, also anticipated the debut of a new villain, Monolithwho will be the ruler of the Hulk planet and the probable villain of the story.
“We work very well together and have a lot of fun making this series and doing our best. I’ve already sketched and designed some new characters with Donny for this run and Issue #9 will introduce many new faces and the most influential will be Monolith. It’s a big Hulk woman who has become the leader of this strange world that the Hulk landed on. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve achieved – it’s going to rock like crazy!“.
